Volunteer

Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas could not exist without our amazing fosters and volunteers. As a private, nonprofit organization, we rely on the assistance of caring and hard-working volunteers in all areas of our rescue. The future of Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas rest solely on its volunteers and foster homes. We are all dedicated to saving Boston Terriers in need and educating the public about the breed.  Volunteering with Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas is simple and easy…..we promise!

Why Volunteer?

Volunteers, they are the lifeline for Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas. Every Boston Terrier we rescue is so thankful a volunteer listened to that inner voice that nudged them into signing up to do that home visit, showing up to that meet and greet to talk with potential adopters or opening up their home to foster a Boston Terrier in need. Yes, every single one of our volunteers make a difference -- no matter what the contribution. Without our volunteers, we would not have been able to help so many Boston Terriers in need every year.

Our volunteers are some of the most caring and compassionate volunteers around! We continue to struggle to meet the demands on our rescue with all of the Boston Terriers that show up in shelters every week or are surrendered by their owners for various reasons. What can you do to help?

While we always need foster homes, fostering is not for everyone. If you cannot foster, you can still help other ways:

  • Attend an Adoption Event - These are the events where our foster dogs meet potential adopters, a step towards finding their furever homes.
  • Participate in an Event - We take advantage of several special event opportunities throughout the year. We need volunteers to set up and break down the booth as well as staff the booth over a period of several days.  We hope to add more events but need volunteers to make this possible.
  • Volunteer to Perform Home Visits in your Area - We receive applications from potential adopters from all over the state of Texas and the states surrounding Texas. Occasionally we do not have adequate coverage for some of the areas. It is an important part of the process of helping our rescues find their furever homes.
  • Serve on a Committee or Serve as an Event Coordinator - These opportunities can range from fundraising to coordinating the volunteers, schedules and activities at special events such as North Texas Giving Day, North Texas Irish Fest or the Pet Expo.
